This week’s #SSsports Twitter Chat has been moved to Thursday night at 7:30pm. I was at the Boston Bruins vs. New York Rangers game last night, so I had to postpone the chat. In addition, because the Chicago Bears vs. Miami Dolphins game begins at 8:20pm, I’ve decided to start the chat earlier in order to avoid conflicts.
I will still be moderating the chat from the account @SusanShanChat. There is only one requirement: please hashtag all tweets with #SSsports. To find out more about the chat, click here. Also, be sure to check back tomorrow to see if you’ve made the highlights! How many times have you made the highlights? Find out right here. For tonight’s #SSsports Twitter Chat, we will discuss the following topics:
1. NBA: The real issue in Portland is the status of Brandon Roy’s knees, not Greg Oden’s. Adrian Wojnarowski wrote, “There’s damage and deterioration, and two league sources with direct knowledge of the medical prognosis on Roy say his days as an NBA All-Star, a franchise player, are probably over.” The stunning news could be the ultimate unraveling of a once promising organization.
2. MLB: Should the playoffs expand to include two more wild card teams? It looks like baseball is headed that way with a “sense of inevitability after little to no opposition emerged during meetings this week with owners and general managers.”
3. Boxing: Manny Pacquiao has been accused of “ducking” black fighters. There are insinuations that he wouldn’t win a bout against “a ‘black boxer’ from the states with a slick style.” What do you make of this?
