#SSsports Chat Topics 11/24/10

Welcome to the Thanksgiving Edition of the #SSsports Twitter Chat!

I will still be moderating the chat from the account @SusanShanChat. There is only one requirement: please hashtag all tweets with #SSsports. To find out more about the chat, click here. Also, be sure to check back tomorrow to see if you’ve made the highlights! How many times have you made the highlights? Find out right here. For tonight’s #SSsports Twitter Chat, we will discuss the following topics:

1. NFL: Because it’s almost Thanksgiving and tonight’s #SSsports chat is a special Thanksgiving Edition, let’s run through the three Turkey Day games in the No Fun League: New England Patriots vs. Detroit Lions, New Orleans Saints vs. Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals vs. New York Jets. Bring your expert analysis. There’s even a rivalry brewing between Terrell Owens and Darrelle Revis.

2. MLB: Negotiations between Derek Jeter and the New York Yankees have fallen off. Yankees GM Brian Cashman even told ESPNNewYork.com, “We’ve encouraged him to test the market and see if there’s something he would prefer other than this. If he can, fine. That’s the way it works.” This is referring to a three-year, $45 million offer. Jeter’s refusal to accept the offer already has people calling him a villain. Is there a right party in this case?

3. NFL: Who is the best team in football? YAHOO!’s Jason Cole thinks it’s the San Diego Chargers (though he ranked the New England Patriots No. 1), “even with their 5-5 record.” YAHOO!’s Michael Silver ranks the New York Jets No. 1. ESPN has opted to put the Atlanta Falcons in the top spot. Do you agree or disagree with these rankings?
