#SSsports Chat Topics 12/14/10

Welcome to the Hawaii edition of the #SSsports chat. The chat will not be held on its usual Wednesday night for I will be on a plane to the beautiful islands in the Pacific. But, fear not, tonight’s chat will be equally insightful and fun.

Follow the chat from the account @SusanShanChat. There is only one requirement: please hashtag all tweets with #SSsports. To find out more about the chat, click here. Also, be sure to check back tomorrow to see if you’ve made the highlights! For tonight’s #SSsports Twitter Chat, we will discuss the following topics:

1. MLB: Cliff Lee has been the hottest topic in the last 24 hours. He spurned both the New York Yankees and the Texas Rangers in favor of a deal with the Philadelphia Phillies for less guaranteed years and less guaranteed money. What are your thoughts on this shocking turn of events?

2. NFL: The New York Jets are struggling mightily, and Mark Sanchez is right in the thick of that storm. Pete Carroll once said that Sanchez wasn’t ready for the NFL after Sanchez declared early. Now, there are rumblings around the league that Sanchez is struggling because he left college too soon. Should Sanchez have stayed in college? Is his inexperience the cause of his struggles?

3. Can anyone stop the New England Patriots? That’s a serious question. Do the Pittsburgh Steelers stand a chance in the AFC Championship game? What about the Atlanta Falcons or the New Orleans Saints in the Super Bowl? Someone please help me break down the keys to defeating the Pats.
