#SSsports Chat Topics 1/5/11

After a two-week hiatus, the #SSsports chat is officially back. 2011 has already been an exciting sports year thus far with the college football and NFL coaching carousel and memorable Sugar and Rose Bowls. Let’s make the #SSsports chats equally exciting this year.

Follow the chat from the account @SusanShanChat. There is only one requirement: please hashtag all tweets with #SSsports. To find out more about the chat, click here. Also, be sure to check back tomorrow to see if you’ve made the highlights! For tonight’s #SSsports Twitter Chat, we will discuss the following topics:

1. NCAA Football: It’s official. Rich Rodriguez has been fired despite Athletic Director Dave Brandon stating yesterday that no decision had been made. Sound familiar? Although the termination was expected, what are your thoughts on Rodriguez’s three-year tenure, and where does he go from here?

2. MLB: Was the Hall of Fame voting surprising? How should we weigh and judge players from the steroid era? Notable results: Jeff Bagwell 41.7 percent, Mark McGwire 19.8 percent, Rafael Palmeiro 11.0 percent.

3. NFL: The coaching carousel has been a constant source of rumormongering. With openings in San Francisco, Denver, Oakland, Cleveland, Carolina, and possibly Miami and Tennessee, where can we expect to see prospective head coaches land?
